Soundcard and front audio ports
im back after so long, its summer again so i get more free time now, anyways...
i have a soundblaster audigy 2zs and it came with front audio ports. now im switching sound cards to an emu 1820m (http://www.emu.com/products/product.asp ... tegory=754).
so my questions are... how do front audio ports work in general, with my audigy 2zs? is there any way to connect them to the new card? i dont want to waste my front audio ports, even tho ill rarely be using them once i switch
note - i havent opened my computer up so i dont kno anythin, ill open it up in a few days when i move back home and get settled and also i dont kno too much bout the new card so i put a link up there

nah guitar center is a goldmine for general audio recording knowledge/help and what bout standardized?palmboy5 wrote:why at a guitar center?? XD doesnt sound like a place to get that much good info..
wait this shit wasnt standardized?
No. The people at every Guitar Center I've ever gone to are dipshits. Every time I've asked someone a question there, they've either tryed to hide the fact that they didn't know, or they rambled on and on how I was wrong and they were right. For example, I was testing out a Mesa Boogie Road King (guitar amp) once, and I asked someone there what tubes it used, as there were many channels and tubes. He was saying some bullshit about how they are all the same but the polarity is different on each channel to give it a different tone... What the flying fuck?!?
They are idiots, bottom line. I'm not sure about sound recording and such, but for everything else, they're clueless.
