Percent of Alcohol?

#1 Post by palmboy5 » Wed Jun 22, 2005 12:19 am

"Wine and spirit coolers typically contain the same amount of alcohol as a regular beer (5%), and, in some cases, have as much as 7% alcohol. Yet they often come in 12-ounce bottles, just like beer. Because of this, they should not be considered light drinks. The higher alcohol versions (6-7%) should be served at a slower rate than regular beer, as they are more potent.

In recent years, light wine has been introduced to consumers. Its alcohol content is between 7 and 9% and it is usually served in 5-ounce glasses. The chart below shows Standard Drink Equivalents for light and regular alcohol wines."

wait so light wine has more alcohol than beer?

It's light wine because it has less alcohol than regular wines have.

Light wine is well light in regards to most other wines. I think Molsen has a beer out that has 7%, ICE beer has more alcohol then normal beer does and lite beer has about 3.5-4% depending upon brand. Beer is more then enough to get most people drunk, it just depends on the person themselves and how quickly they consume it. For me I need something with alittle more kick, rum usually gets the job done but its expensive at a bar so while im underage I just get a bottle of it and drink it wherever, when I do start hitting the clubs I wont be drinking rum all that much.

one shot (2oz) of wine might as well be water there pb... if 2oz of wine made you feel anything besides alittle refreshed youve got problems. I drank 80 proof (40 percent alcohol by volume) rum and I was fine.

I can catch a buzz with one beer. I am not a drinker and never really was. If I have a few drinks twice a year its a lot. :P
