Holy shit...

Well, my dad didn't order it yet. My mom was wrong...

It will get ordered tonight. If you can show me a kick ass PSU that looks cool as well in less than 2 hours, go for it. If not, I'll see if I can find a higher wattage one.
Here to impress.

Unless you plan to OC or go SLI just go 400-450 wats but make sure its a reliable brand.

ugh, finding a PSU that "looks cool" makes searching about 394873 times harder. THE PURPOSE OF A POWER SUPPLY IS NOT TO LOOK GOOD. this thing will be the true backbone of the entire system, dont skimp on quality just to find some brand that makes stuff that "looks cool"

you cant go wrong with that

if that one costs too much
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817101516
this will work just fine.

this should do nicely too
For computers, buying cheaply and often will only leave you constantly in a world of shit.

He doesnt need that kind of power, unless he knows right now he WILL be overclocking or getting another 7800GT.

400W will do just fine, and 150$ for a PSU WTF ROFL.....

No, not really PB.

400 watts should be sufficient. True, it's better to have too much than too little, but you have to remember what wattage is. Just power. The HD's will need more amps than anything else really in order to spin those fuckers 120 times a second. True, wattage can be (I*I)/R, but really. Somethings in that computer aren't really power reliant.

... the HDs dont need much power at all.. the motor is really small and usually only needs to have a little juice to keep the discs spinning.. the discs have their own momentum helping them along o.O the two biggies are the CPU and video card. and what you're getting is a dual core (almost DOUBLE the need of a single) and a 7800GT (second most powerful card you can get by the power hungry nvidia)
