fuck omg... i use three routers, and they decide to spontaneously malfunction.
BEFSR41 router 1:
stopped assigning DHCP automatically while settings have no problems, have to pull the plug to make it assign additional computers. internet connection dies periodically
BEFSR41 router 2:
continues to have a blinking red light for WAN - Diag, resets have no effect. unable to access router control panel, no response, otherwise it still seems to work uplinked to router 1
AR315W router 3:
wireless signal strength just went down the DRAIN, horrible.
and like this comp, the one in sig is connected through router 2, which is connected to router 1, and then to the modem.. yet this comp managed to maintain an internet connnection while all the comps connected to router 1 lost it.
ok i know no one cares

shit gets fucked up.... like this little problem I had yesterday.
My friend had a computer that screwed up and he wanted to just reformat the drive and do a fresh windows install. It had 98 and he wanted XP, didnt care which flavor of XP.
Before hand he took a dell dimension recovery cd and put it in the other computer and ran it. It installed XP but wouldnt work (I think this dumbass move is what fucked everything up). XP was installed correctly but everytime he tried to boot up it got to the black windows xp boot screen where the little blue bar rolls across the bottom and after that the monitor goes black????? WTF.
Install windows 98 from a full version I had of it and worked fine (took like an hour to make a boot disk lmao... no computers in his house or mine had 98, we were at his house and at first he couldnt even find any floppys... and they only had ONE computer with a floppy drive and it was being gay but eventually we got it to work.. had to download a utility to make the 98 boot up disk in XP).
SO we then install a windows XP pro upgrade, put in a serial and BOOM works like a charm. Boots up to desktop like a champ.

mm well i removed router 2, replaced it with the wireless router (it was basically just connected to router 2 and served only for wireless purposes, but it is a also a 4 port, so yeah), reflashed router 1
everything seems to be stable. dunno what to do with router 2 o.O its like.. since i cant contact the router, i cant do shit to fix it.
