I dont know dog, hopefully you had the original bios or whatever.. if you can even downgrade.

But why and better yet HOW would the ram stop staying at 200mhz, you mean your rams FSB is just changing because of bios change. You should be able to up the FSB of the CPU without changeing the memory FSB (if I have my facts strait)

Electrical tape that splice, its carrying current and could cause damage it if hits that metal. Anything else touching the metal would conduct.

Where you spliced the 4 pin cable to make it longer, looks like you used scotch tape. Use electrical.

LOL yeah i was too lazy, maybe i will, later. for now im pretty sure its stuck pushing on the side of the case which even then the case metal is not connected to the rest of the case so none of the current will reach the other stuff

ok on a sidenote, dont use Cool & Quiet, or like.. if you have the same setup as me, dont use Cool & Quiet ^^, it never clocks down, even with the new BIOS, and for some reason when i run something like DC++ the comp like.. i dont know, but the mouse movement slows down and movement is unsmooth, music will pause and continue like 20 times per second, so it sounds all jagged. disabling Cool & Quiet fixes it

CPU X2 3800+ @ 10x250, 7800GT @ 488/1170, AquaMark 3 = 86,806

Sounds like a bad board... RMA that F'er right back. Cool and Quiet shouldnt cause that, and I didnt even know you could disable. I've heard alot of bad things about those mobo's.... which is makeing me even surer about the DFI board.

That sounds damn weird though, what do you mean it dosent clock down???

o.O;; ive heard a lot of good things about this mobo, heard a lot of compatibility issues with the DFI boards.

Cool & Quiet = when load is low itll lower the multiplier/voltage, similar to laptops except laptops lower FSB with it. im quite sure its just the multiplier cuz i can manually set the FSB and multiplier, but when i enable Cool & Quiet, Mutliplier and CPU VCore switch to unselectable "Auto", and... even opening the Cool & Quiet utility, it always stays at 2000MHz, 1.3500V

Link to complaints about DFI board??? Go right to the A8N-SLI Deluxe Premium and A8N-E for the bad reviews on newegg.

So cool and quiet basically just backs the CPU down when its not all being used to keep temps low??? Thats gay IMO and I would disable it if thats all it did.

"Pros: It works great for the first few months until the southbridge fan dies, but all the features are awesome.

Cons: The southbridge fan has died on 2 of my Asus a8n-sli deluxe motherboards within months of eachother.

Other Thoughts: Get the Asus premium motherboard cause they got rid of the fan in favor of a heatsink-pipe."

this was a user review for the A8N32-SLI Deluxe. lol just thought it was funny. looks like it working or not is hit or miss? dunno about the intelligence level of those guys but w/e, i "hit"

anyhooo:

all the 1-eggs
"Other Thoughts: never buying dfi again. i should just stick with asus."

however, your non-SLI choice did not have such bad reviews so.. good for you.

lol how strange... my P180 does have a slight warp on the front door but like over night itll bend out about 3mm, but in the day its perfectly fine, the magnet can hold it down, VERY down, even.

room temperature does not change...

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm05=267350

EDIT:
dude i got freaking the same score as ppl with X2s at 2200MHz, and a little below some of the 2400MHz+

apparently for the 4-threaded test my CPU favored File Decryption as the one it concentrates on cuz its score owns but the other three... not so much
