No, not since he brought it up. I had hoped it would be like that, but he just casually spit it out that i should take over the payments and it would be mine.

Haveing some thoughts about the setup here... mainly the case. I like the Antec PC got but I've just heard to many bad things about it espically damage durning shiping and front door warping. So I want a decent mid tower case, with plenty of bays and decent air flow. Keyboard doesnt matter to me, in fact I dont even have to buy one. But I will look into a better mouse and if I can find a good gameing mouse/keyboard deal Ill get that.

-Keyboard/mouse 20$ Microsoft B7S-00003 White Wired Standard Keyboard Mouse Included - OEM

-Floppy Drive 10$

-Case 70$ Aspire Black/Silver X-Plorer ATX Mid-Tower Case with Clear Side, Fan Controller, Front USB

-CPU 223$ AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3700BNBOX - Retail

-MOBO 115$ DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

-Hard Drive 110$ HITACHI Deskstar T7K250 0A31636 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

-Optical Drive 40$ LITE-ON Black IDE DVD Burner Model SOHW-1693S Black - Retail

-Video Card 350$ BFG Tech Geforce 7800GT BFGR78256GTOC Video Card - Retail

-Memory 142$ OCZ Gold Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) 2-2-2-5

-PSU 76$ ENERMAX Noisetaker EG495P-VE SFMA 485W Power Supply - Retail

6$ Artic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

-Monitor 220$ ViewSonic G90FB Black 19" CRT Monitor D-Sub - Retail

TOTAL: $1392 Without shipping or taxes (1475 with taxes)

Time to update this bad boy... very much has changed since my initial build. And its possible that it will change alot more before I actually purchase all the parts.

Keyboard/Mouse: Dont really have anthing picked yet. I dont want a standard shitty set, yet dont wana go nuts and spend 150$ on this part of the build. Having something fairly decent for gaming would be nice, as thats what this compy is.

Case: Still pondering this as well. I was thinking of the Antec P180 that PB got. I would use that case IF I was sure I could get one 100% undamaged from newegg. Also considering the Aspire Black/Silver X-Ploder Mid Tower ATX Case

CPU: Still sold on the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Deigo (unless the X2 3800 drops 100$ in a month or so)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6819103539

MOBO: Still going to get the DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D nF4, monster OC'er and cheaper then the ASUS board I was going to get.

(is this the NON SLI version of what you have PB??)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131530

Hard Drive: Found a good deal on a Hitachi Deskstar.... 250 GB for 110$ and its SATA 3.0

Optical Drive: Still up for grabs. I have a NEC ND 2510A that works fine. It may only burn +/- R at 8x but thats no biggie. Only issue is DL disks are burnt at 2.4x

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6827106014

GPU: Still goin for the BFG Tech Nvidia 7800GT (gotta love warrenty OC)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814130256

RAM: OCZ Gold series 1GB (2x512MB) DDR 400 PC3200 @ 2-2-2-5 stock

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6820227211

PSU: Enermax Noisetaker EG495P-VE SFMA 485w

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6817103457

A tube of AS5 thermal compound

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835100007

Monitor: Viewsonic G90FB Black 19" CRT

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6824116282

Now, not sure on a few things. Firstly on the mouse keyboard. Secondly on if or not to stay with my ND 2510A. Case and Mobo are still under thinking but closer to being final then the first 2 things. Sound card is another thing, should I go for a decent sound card???? Keep in mind I always play with headphones. Not getting 2GB of ram, atleast not this year. And wont get a X2 unless the drop quite a bit.

0.o the 7800GT I linked too is faster and over 60$ less then my BFG that I want. Think im going with a EVGA now.

Well lol, the reviews for the A8N-SLI Premium and the A8N-E both basically got bad reviews on newegg. The DFI board I wanted didnt exactly get product of the month either.... I still think im going with DFI board now. It just looks ugly lol

everyone you know, you mean the WoWers? lol, dumbasses. dual cores are ONLY "bad" in games because nearly every game is single threaded, dual core models tend to come with a lower STOCK speed, and since the game is single threaded, it only uses ONE core at a LOWER speed than that of single cores. performance is therefore lower, but what about OCing? hm? i dont recall seeing the dual cores OCing any lower than a single core

2005, yeah i think thats about the same, except it has active cooling and lacks a second LAN port

the sound is perfectly fine.

lol its more multimedia based, video encodings and such are usually multithreaded, like Divx.

call of duty 2 has a dual core patch along with a few other "good" games, and you CAN encode or convert or burn a CD or do whatever you want and still play a game without a performance decrease. this should especially affect YOU because you have 'one' PC, YOU cant look at the encoding progress and say "oh im bored, im gonna play WoW", because you dont even have a second PC that can handle it, so you, with a single core processor, will have to wait through the encoding, rotting away... with dual core you can run them simultaniously and 'get more done' <== lol i think i read that phrase on my X2 box.
