I dunno... opty 165's are so hit and miss.

Acording to speculation.. some steppings/week's hit 3.0ghz stable and others need crazy volts just to hit 2.6+

Whats weird is my 0607 is sandwitched inbetween to hella good OCing weeks 0606 and 0608.

is this stepping 'data' in like a nice 'database'? i wanna see :]

ive seen plenty of my CCBWE 0534 getting to at least 2.6 with no more than 1.47V, but i cant get that kinda shit ><

lol week 34 is like.. august, and X2 3800+ was released in august. lol i know the last batch of a CPU (like, last Athlon XP batch made) are about the worst OCers but dunno about the FIRST of a model.... lol mines so old.. i guess thats what you get when you buy a stand-alone CPU from frys.. no one would buy it since its cheaper online until that one sale i bought it at. eww unclean.

the ONLY X2 i found with CCBWE 0534 is here:
http://mitglied.lycos.de/xxmartin99/A64 ... E0534VPMW/
and he has some nice OCs o.o
EVERYTHING else is Opteron-ville, and they all OC higher than mine, so im thinking it HAS TO BE SOMETHING wrong with a SETTING.

EDIT:
ok found another CCBWE 0534 X2, a 4800+
he got it to 2.94ghz watercooled -_-

and. i. cant. fucking. get. 2.6

CCBWE is the memory controller code... for X2's and Opterons your usually looking at either CCBWE or CCB1E. Now I dont know about X2's (if their is even a CCB1E X2).... but all CCB1E opterons should hit 2.8GHZ+ with very little voltage increases.

The reason you probably not seeing too much on CCBWE X2's is that the opterons are in general much better OCers then X2's. Their workstation chips and their stability is held to higher standards, thus the reason their sought after.

Ill post a link I have, which deals with optys only lol... but gives you a general idea of what im talking about.

It could be your motherboard holding you back.. who knows.

lol you posted twice

CCBWE 0534SPMW
is in the baddies list LOL aw fuckzored

im gonna try and see if 10x261 doesnt work because the memory controller cant handle 2GB at that speed... by removing a stick of RAM.

well i booted this far, priming. but LOL i seriously didnt expect dual channel to be 'real', with one stick of ram my transfer speed performance is effectively cut in half!

OH SHIZNIT lol i left the side panel off so like there was like no air moving through the HDs and i checked temps, 48C, 50C, 45C O_O

put the side panel back on but now any prime failing may actually just be because of temperature. soooo now im just gonna run one prime

ok using ATITools was cool, i like how it does its stuff, 1337. so basically my highest safe OC is 485/1170 to avoid "deltas", no artifacts at 488/1190 but nooo i should be avoiding these "deltas".
lol ATITools isnt TOO good, it was finding my memory's max clock and it was all the way up at 1300 and the system crashed

No i didnt OC yet, but I would think just the higher on chip cache would allow me to beat you at the same clockspeeds.

I was thinking of installing the freezer 64 pro today, and bench but that isnt a good idea. I will OC and bench and get idle max temps at my max OC and then remove the heat pipe HSF and install the freezer and bench/ temp monitor again.

lol i wanna try running with the ECS NFORCE4-939, but then again, why the fuck would i do that XD i really like that board though for some reason, its just so simple when you look at it

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage ... -%20Retail

just so CLEAN, everythings empty and blank, yet it has every feature you would ever use. (sans BIOS options for OCing)

lol sorry today i just went and opened it's box and looked at the board again..
and i. still. fucking. want. 2.6GHz.

Why dawg, Ill probably settle for 2.4ghz on the 165 if my temps arnt suitable.

Your best chance at 2.6ghz on that chip is a DFI board, they are THE best 939 OC'ers if you dont have problems with them, which I havent.
