something strange...
Well today since I had zero to do like every single fucking weekend, I decided to open the PC up and clean it out. You know just the general stuff... remove the fans and clean the dust from them, removed the front intake fan since its not neceassary and only makes the dust accumulate faster and took a spray can and sprayed everything out.
Upon plugging it all back in I notice that the fan on the ATI doesnt idle down but stays on full speed and the computer doesnt post at all (atleast from what I can tell on the monitor. I shut the power off and try it agian, nothing.... one final time and it fires up like nothings wrong.
Im going to shut down and reboot a few more times to see if I can get it to do it again, but this is strange....
I did just update to catalyst 6.8.... maybe thats it.

Just held in the power button until it shut down and then restarted it.
The GPU fan always comes on full blast, but dies about 3-5 seconds afterwards. That time it didn't, it just stayed on. I think I say a red error led lit on my DFI board but before I thought enough to check it I was already resetting the power.
Im going to turn the system speaker back on, that way I can hear the little beeps and what not so I can use those to diagnose problems.
So far the system has memtest86'ed for 10 hours now with no failures and zero errors. I left it on while I went to work, when I get home it will be close to 20 hours of memtest. If i dont have errors by then I can safely rule out the ram.

No... but I looped 3Dmark01 again for probably 8+ hours with no issues. I dont think the GPU is bad.
So my only guess would be the power supply, or maybe because I drained the capacitors by pressing the power button when I had the case apart and the power cable was removed from the machine(its a good idea to do this however...).
Im not getting POST error codes, or any red error LED's on the DFI board itself so inono lol.
