Our actions (with buddies) were PLANNED this time, got out in less than two hours as compared to the 7 hours stuck in the store like last year.

Charges possible after Black Friday crowd tramples employee at N.Y. store

There was also a shooting in California at a toys-r-us over a toy but I can't seem to find the article yet.

I haven't gone shopping for anything on a black Friday in 10+ years. Not worth the trouble.
This is only my opinion, I could be wrong.

Ah, to me its a good several hours chatting it up with old classmates from high school. Then, saving a huge percentage.

Post-Black-Friday spoils (Saturday):

Samsung LN32A550 32" 1080p LCD
$649.00

SYBA CL-NBCP-4U Notebook Cooler w/ integrated 4-Port USB Hub
$2.99

Airlink101 ATVC102 Digital to Analog TV Converter
$40.00 (I'm returning, should have checked that you had to get the government coupon THEN buy. Would have been free though.)

Total with taxes:
$760.54 - $40 after return

Grand Total:
$720.54

Getting the HDTV was a bit fun, mainly because all they had left for us was an open boxed and the display model. The open-boxed had a broken stand, so we took the stand from the display model instead. The thing is, we have both of a part from both sets, so they can never put that display model up again. Serves them right though, they had a Toshiba 32" 720p LCD for $388 or so and basically "oversold" the TV by running out before all the people with printed confirmations got a TV. Mini-riot ftw.
