Re: Guitars
When starting out, you'd want something good, but not something extravogant. First, go to Musicians Friend and check out some guitars and amps you'd want. Some of those beginners kits aren't that bad either. Here's a list of some things you'll need, and some good brands to look at for them.2005 wrote:I want to get a guitar, whats a good one for like playing GNR Metallica AC/DC Bon Jovi Ozzy and stuff like that... electric right?? whats a good one and whats like a good amp for it.
Guitar: A Squier, Fender, or maybe a cheaper end Ibanez, Jackson, or Washburn will do good. For some of the stuff you want to play, something with humbucker pickups would be best.
Amp: Something small at first, no more than 15 watts. You'll want solid state for now (dont worry about what this means right now). Marshall, Fender, Peavey... great brands. Just stay away from Crate. Depending on what you get, an investment in a nice distortion pedal would be a nessacity.
Tuner: Rule of thumb, make sure it is at least $35. Korg makes superb tuners, just dont get a Fender tuner.
Cables: Something really not important when you're learning. A 5-10 foot cable will do for now. Monster Cables rule everything, but any brand will do for now.
Picks: Any kind that you like. Get everykind of pick you'd think you might use. (I use 3 different types)
Optional distortion pedal: Depending on the amp you get, (cunsult me first), get something by Digitech or Boss (Boss is better).
Here to impress.
