Downloading at college

So is it most of the colleges that wont let you download?? like they have logs to check?? or how does it go because my friends brother has his brother download movies then sends it to him through AIM.

most college lines have ports used for File transfer proggys plugged, so your sometimes just screwed and cant use anything at all

the ports usually vary between 412 - 1412
