Assuming Japan's fastest is still 100, do you think they decided to literally one-up Japan?
For computers, buying cheaply and often will only leave you constantly in a world of shit.

One-up Japan???? That's impossible.

I don't think Japans fastest is 100... I think that was there average or something.

On that note, no one needs that much speed. I get along just fine with whatever is it we get. My speed ranges from 18 to 30 Mbps download and 1-2 mbps upload. You don't even need it to stream HD shows... I can do that just fine with my connection even with 2 or 3 other people using the connection.

You have to define "HD" because right now that term is thrown around for even SD resolutions. Codec and bitrate are pretty important as well.

Anyway, going by the pinnacle quality HD a consumer can acquire, Blu-ray, HD 1080p is at an average bitrate of 36 Mbps. Can your 18 to 30 Mbps handle that? Doesn't look like it.

But actually, that's beside the point:
NEVER be satisfied. Technology can always and must always improve! If everyone had your attitude of "no one needs that much", then the market would stagnate as tech companies can't find any demand for anything new. Then NO ONE would be ready when Super-Ultra-3D-Holographic movie format comes out.
For computers, buying cheaply and often will only leave you constantly in a world of shit.
