It's not so much in the installation of that AIM shit, you dopes! It's when you use it that you're vulnerable to spyware and viruses.

People hack Microsoft because the majority of PC users have it installed. That's why some users think Linux is so much better since they don't have the security issues. Same people target AOL and AIM users for the same reasons. A lot of dumbasses use those programs.

If only 5% of users in the world used Microsoft and the other 95% used Linux, do you think there would be so many "security issues" with IE6?


Same thing with AIM vs. MSN messenger (although that's yet another open door to attacks). More users = more potential victims.

of course AMD64 is 32bit also so BOTH types work on IT but IT has this weird anti-virus thing in it ^^

actually linux has its ups and downs but for the most part philip is right. M$ is widespread by like 97 percent of all people who use computers so its only comon knowledge that hackers would concentrait on it. Ive only ever had three infections on my computer and only one was serious, it depends majorly on what you do that will determine wheter or not you get virsus or not.

And just to let you know that WildTangent and WeatherBug and all that shit are spyware but like Dragon said you dont have to install them and you can assume your a jackass if you did.

Ive known about SB S&D for quite some time but i also use lava softs ad aware 6 and spywareblaster.
