Ha, why'd you quit? I can't seem to stop playing it for myself every time I'm alone in my room.

cuz im not interested and all it brought me was this hatred as my parents scolded me for not playing. and with the obvious slow progress because of my attitude i would never get to the level needed for transcripts and shit so im like fuck it.

Ah, that really sucks for you, palm. I took it up completely volintarily; it'd be terrible to be forced to play all the time.

By the way, how many octaves are in a regular piano? Seven or Eight?

Seven. Starts on A, ends in C.

It would still be seven. When it's A0 to C7, it's seven octaves, plus the minor 3rd.

If you need to know any theory like that, ask away.

Music theory. Sort of like a science of testing people's reactions to types of music, it's how songs are written - lots of them are based on or checked by formulae. This is how you can hear ten to twenty songs on a CD that each sound pretty different.

I use a keyboard/sampler that has five octaves, I forgot to mention. Currently, I'm saving up to buy a seven octave sampler and a five octave synthesiser, each costing about $650 each.

The one I have is compatable with stands, but I have it sitting on a rack accessible with a bar stool. The one I'm getting, you sit down to play. It'd be really nice if I carried my camera around; I just got back from the thrift store and it looks better every time I see it. :)
