i noticed when i tried 1600x1200, with the same detail settings, textures seemed to lose nearly all detail.. i believe the game still does its own little changes according to system performance.
it may be because my cards slower, if you want to compare, lets choose some other game.

HL2 is fucken awesome.. I like it more then oblivion although oblivion is still a fun game.
But HL2 is just SOOO good. Only thing is, is that now I've gotten stuck twice. Once when you have to turn the valve and flood the one part with pipes in it and once shortly after. I got stuck underwater the first time and it killed me... this second time I dont konw how to get unstuck other then loading a save before it and replaying through.
I seem to be having yet one more issue with the game, it seems that my bullet counter is reduced to nothing more then a tiny little box with a portion of a number in it. That and when I get to a part where it says loading it hangs for about 5-8 seconds and then lags for 1-2 more.. is it normal or because im playing at 1600x1200 or catalyst 6.4????

uhh, you turn the valve for water to come in, get back up to where you came from, back to the room of manhacks (i HATE this part of the game) youll find theres a a hole with ladder going down into the water below that room, climb down and swim through that pipe thing (this is when you realize manhacks can swim.) and then youre fine.
the loading part is normal, and even longer on slower computers, but i dont know about the 1-2 lag afterwards, i dont get that o.O
dunno about the bullet counter

Well my issue is that I got trapped underwated in one part of the pipes.... no matter what buttons at all i pressed the guy wouldnt moved and he ended up drowning.
1-2 after may be because my system is sharing so many IRQ's which I still dont know why. DFI's fourm members are being gay, so I may end up calling DFI to see what the shit is up. It shouldnt lag at all with this X1800XT. I get 80-100FPS at 1600x1200 with all other settings max no matter how many other people are in the game.
Ill get some screenies up after work, so you can see what im talking about with the gun bullet thing.
