What's the best way to share video files, such as format, size, encoding, etc?

I have a few DVD ripped off to .vob files and stuff that can be turned into whatever... I just wanted to know what I should convert them to.

Also, kinda the same question, except for audio. Although, almost everyone uses MP3, so no need for audio format, just how many Kbps do most of you dl songs at? I.E. - 128 Kbps - 320 Kbps.

What's a good Lossless audio format? Maybe one with a high bit-rate.

What's a good P2P app.? I wanna dl some new stuff, and don't have a P2P program anymore, plz be specific.

So which is better zDC++ or rmDC++?

128 Kbps cuz they're smaller? I'm not really worried about size.

And what size for movies, like pixels x pixels? I don't dl movies so I don't know what size they usually are or anything. What's avg size on a video that's mpeg/avi and do you need to split the files?

---------

How hard would it be to use a secure connection for P2P like 128 bit or higher with other added security measures (to keep certain ppl from knowing what you dl or have on your HDD)?

ummm 320x480? forgot

rm is just an emulator, there are others than zDC++, rm will emulate w/e u need.

a gig is pretty good (kinda big) size for a movie

VCD: 352x240
SVCD: 480x480
DVD: 720x480 (I think)

If it says something like 'CD1' in the name of the file, it's most likely a vcd/svcd-- and most are two-part files. AVI's are just one file, and this is 2005's 'field of knowledge' but I'm guessing an AVI can be almost like any res-- not too sure though. I didn't really "study" that stuff.

so if it's a gig split it 2 or 3 times maybe? Emu. like any DC++?

Do you lose much quality when doin' that?

If the file is one gigabyte, it won't be a vcd/svcd [OBVIOUSLY]. It'll be an .avi.

I was sayin' if it was VCD/SVCD. When I dub DVDs I cut off credits & menus to fit to a 4.7 GB DVD+R. The compression then is usually no less than 92%. And I haven't seen any flaws in the ones I've dubbed.
