Command Prompt help

what do i do to a "dir" command to make it output into a .txt file?

Just go into the command prompt and do this,

In this example I will who you how to output your dir listing for the c: hard drive and it will output the dir into a .txt on that drive.

c: and then press enter to get it on c:

then type dir >directory.txt

it will output the directory for you

thx, heres another q...

how do i change directory if the directory has a "&" in its name, and i dont want to renaming the folder

"cd first & last" yeilds " 'last' is not recognized as an internal or external command..."
