it should support NTFS. just right click on the drive in My Computer > Format... and there, lets you chose the format and such

what i would like to know is if there is ANY way to force a change in the drive letter assignment. lol my partitions labelled Other 1, Other 2, Other 3, and Other are in random order after the reformat and it pisses me off

yea disk management is where you want to do all that kinda of shit.

You deff dont want it in FAT32 unless you have no files over 4GB in size. 4GB is the biggest file that you can have on a FAT32 drive. The free space is meaningless here, 4GB is the max size any one file can take up.

Go NTFS... format it via disk management.

lol THANK YOU. im going to fucking hug you now.

but first a question about that, if i installed some programs on that drive, and it was letter G at the time, and i change it to E, will the thing change the letter to E in the registry and whatever for all those programs? otherwise ill just name the rest of the drives.. after G. no biggie .-.

EDIT: question answered.

the drive letter with installs on it should not be changed as the disk manager warned that changing it may cause programs to not work

Some wont work correctly, and most if not all can be alterted in the registry manually to work correctly.

the question is, is it worth the effort? or would it be easier to just keep the letter of the partition you installed on and set the others according to it.

lol so now im using..
A, C, G, H, I, J

i was wondering bout the letter changing but im not doing it...

right now ive got internally C D E and F and G is the hp recovery partition (E and C have installs)

then 2 cd/dvd drives and a card reader r drives H I J K L M

then external drives N O and now my brand new P... but i gotta switch it to NTFS, it shouldnt have any files on it during the switch over from FAT right?
