is there any software (i want good freeware) that will give me info about my computer... ive seen some before but i dont kno what theyr called or what category of software theyd fall under... but its like the program is a control panel w/ a bunch of "applets" which lead to info bout ur computer, for example temperature in ur case, fan speed or how much ram u have out of the total possible or whatev

oh and i dont mean specific software that came with the mobo u bought when u built ur comp or whatev... im jus talkin bout somethin i can dl (or crack if i have to)

any programs u can think of?

Everest
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
tells basically everything, then a few RAM benchmarks

Sandra
http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html?di ... angx=en&a=
tells basically everything, then a lot of benchmarks (you are probably talking about this one, 2007 version has a different layout though)

CPU-Z
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
tells basically everything about CPU and RAM

oh i also like the system analyzer in 3DMark06, it tells a lot of other shit that, granted arent very useful, but interesting nonetheless

Everest will help you, it can detect hardware even without proper/working drivers.

eh nah... it would be better to call it "computer diagnostic software"

If all you need is info about the ram, then just use CPU-Z. It will give you type, ammount, channel configuration, speed and latency.

you could find that out in the task manager... which is really irrelavant for his needs atm.

what im sayin is yes i dont feel like unhookin all my cables and openin the case, so i need a prog to tell me what is inside, in refrence to my RAM situation

however, i have known about "computer diagnostic software" and ive been meaning to get it, jus for general maintence and whatnot... i didnt kno the names of any and i didnt know the term diagnostic software either...

anyways this was the best moment to ask about the software because ive been meaning to AND because the RAM info i want lol
