Wasn't it completed like a month ago? It sucks because the new ATi chipset wont be avaliable for conroe. Point of interest for the new chipset? independant setting of the RAM speed. ie no dividers, just set 300, 301, 302, 303, etc :] such a chipset for conroe would have been pure pwnage

Do you not think that plays into AMDs favor in a big way?
It sucks because they more then likely wont release a 939 board with such a chipset and I dont want to buy DDR2 ram or a new CPU. The floor fell out from under this 939 stuff, so my around $450 investment is now worth around $350 and DDR2 ram is starting to get more expensive AND they dont make AM2 Opteron 165's

Yes it does play into AMD's favor. But not for the good of the consumer, more accurately the enthusiast consumer.
I'm hoping to be able to get another X2 3800+ at the last minute. The problem is when that will be..? When will current supplies run out and prices start going up? must hit the sweet spot

Its a bold move, but on the other hand... this nForce 4 chipset kicks ass and the nForce 5 will probably pwn equally.
The only way it would be a let down is if the new Nvidia chipset didnt have independant RAM FSB settings.

It'll be a while before I get there. I don't have the money for the newer cards and hardware. You would get a good laugh if I listed my system specs.

Not everyone has the cash to drop on these types of things, and you can post here just the same as us so it really dosent matter.
I spent alot of money on this hardware, and had I not been such an enthusiast and manage my income very well it would have never have happened for being a 19 year old kid living in a household which brings in less then 35,000 for 4 people and 2 dogs.
If what you have does what you need, then thats all that matters.
I am intrigued atleast to find out what you have... it cant be that bad... like a 386 and a whopping 8MB of ram.

Its not that bad, but compaired to the specs I see it doesn't rate.

That system isnt NEARLY as bad as I had expected.
I figured to see something like this:
Pentium 3 700mhz
128MB DDR 2100
5400 RPM ATA 66 40GB HDD
Radeon 9200
Intergrated sound

lol i dont see whats so bad about that system, perfectly livable, even for me since i rarely game now.
i was expecting something like 2005's guess but:
1. I cant find a Pentium III board with DDR-RAM
2. The Pentium III 700MHz has a 100MHz FSB, but the RAM is 133MHz?
3. Even my really cheap Celeron 466MHz system had a 7200RPM HDD and it was only 8GB, it would be highly unlikely he would upgrade to a 5400RPM HDD (no way a drive of that capacity came with the system)
