u dont really need to "learn" linux anymore...
and this is what reformatting is for XD dragon knows better than me, he practically reformats monthly!

Apperntly you dont understand reformating.... it doesnt overwrite data... which was explained on that site, it just removes the TOC and links to it.
Those hidden files arnt touched, the system itself basically doesnt know their there.

There is no "erasing" how can it erase a directory thats practically invisible to the OS. Theres no log of in anywhere so how could a TOC format get rid of it... Im thinking the only possible way to reformat is to physically write the surface over and over about 10 times and maybe then it would be gone. But just to format the drive and reinstall windows wouldnt do shit to it.

if its "invisible" what does it matter? im talking about how windows keeps a log of all the sites u visit and shit. just reformat. windows sure wont know.

But if you reformat with Windows.. heh. Really makes me wish that Linux could safely delete things from an NTFS partition.

They are files that stay on the drive until its destroyed... it will never be removed unless you know the exact path and manually reformat it. Read over the posts on fuckmicrosoft.com and youll understand why they cant be removed.
