If you really knew the definition of emo, you'd shut up. Emo is all about lyrics, and most of The Used's lyrics aren't well..even EMO. Don't even bother posting a defintion of 'emo' to prove me wrong. Have you listened to their songs? Now, Bright Eyes is emo. The Used is just hardcore rock.

Plus, just because I listen to 'EMO' music, doesn't mean I'm emo.

OH, and under styles, it says alternative/rock..just to let you know.

To tell you the truth, it's both. Alternative is basically rock, and The Used adds hardcore to their music, so..that's what it is.

Alternative is a softer rock... and is different enough to carry a different name, and now ur saying it is basically "hardcore" too.

Hardcore is rock but just more..wild with their instruments. I wouldn't really now how to explain it. If you're somebody that actually listens to alternative, emo, screamo, hardcore, metal, etc. you would know what the differences are, but you don't...

no hardcore is this fucked up version of rock, and rock is similar to alternative, but alternative is FAR from hardcore.

Yeah, in your opinion..

YES, alternative IS different than hardcore but in The Used, they add them both into their music.

Palm, if you haven't even listened to their music and anything that is similar to it, how could you even be so sure of what you're saying right now? Listen to it first, get familiar with it, then tell me what you think..
