Which card is good in this 3rd gen of cards... outa say the Geforce 6600, 6800 or the ATI X300, X600, X700, X800

When I say that I mean which of those cards is the best in PCI Express version for the money they cost??? And I dont want the 512MB version of the 6800 Ultra either.

6600GT is a good card... or 6800, ur choice. (i shoulda gotten a 6600GT for my AXP)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... x=0&Go.y=0

i dunno how good a video card u want so im just saying 6600GT, its counterpart, the X700 is about the same price but the X700 is cheaper unless your comparing AGP 6600GT, and a PCI-Express X700
i dunno the 6600GT is like 10 more than the X700, and from the HL2 benchmarks, the X700 is superior :) (by a frame)

basicly both nVidia and ATi have counterparts to go against the other's model, at similar prices. the only question is, how good a card do u want, and which company are you a fanboy of?

I am an ATI fanboy but ive heard alot of good things about Nvidia. If i get this new computer ( Will probably have around 2,000$ to spend ) I would want it to have the X800 in it.

Well I want the computer to be all around good you know, whats the point in having a X850 and only 512mb of shitty ram a slow hdd and a second rate cpu. Plus ill need to factor in a monitor keyboard, speakers, and a mouse. So the total fund will probably be around 2500$ for a all the extras.

mmm well you MAY be able to get a dual core XD, otherwise get one with the Venice architecture, those can OC to 2.8 with stock cooling without voltage modding
