Windows new update security.

#1 Post by Directive » Fri Aug 05, 2005 9:47 pm

Is there anyone else other then me who can not get windows updates other then the security ones? I honestly don't like it but I understand why. The only version of windows I ever owned is Windows 98. If I had to spend, even there discount rate, I wouldn't have a few things I got for hardware now. It's just so damn expencive for a single CD of anything. With the millions they sell they can afford to drop the price and pick up the sales of the people who can't afford it now.
This is only my opinion, I could be wrong.

Same. I still have SP1. Never did get SP2. If I ever reformat, I might pick it up though.

The only Windows version I ever owned was Windows 95. Windows 3.1 came on our old 386, and 98 SE on my current.
Here to impress.

I wonder, out of the millions of pirate XP OS's out there, who will buy a legit copy or go with a different OS or just stick with there copy. I am sticking with this myself. That is untill I get more info on the new version of windows coming out soon (Windows Vista).

Well, here is my theory on that.
Hopefully Vista will drive the price of XP down. I don't care if there is less anti-piracy on it or runs slower. Why you may ask? Because what you don't experience, you don't miss.

As you can tell, it didn't work for me but I did find a fix that does work for me.
If you would like it, then PM me your request and email and I'll send it to you. It at least worked as of this morn.
