The BenQ cd writers were always sup par, so I figured the rest of their products followed suite.

Really?? Why is that, Lite-On has made superb cd writers... being some of the best EFM capable drives out there. The DVD-ROMs from Lite-On that my faimly owns are quite good... never had any problems.
Have you had a bad experience with the brand??

My ND 2510A has never failed me, but Lite-On is cream of the crop IMHO.

i have a bad impression about them because i read that Sony is just a rebadged Lite-On, but as you know.. Sony drives suck.

oh i have something to back that up.
http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.p ... a5acf&f=61
notice who's name is with LiteOn
now i dont know about you but i read the first several threads in the forum and they were nearly all about pretty serious issues people are having with LiteOn and Sony drives. but of course if you take a look around, ull notice every thread is basically about a problem, for every brand

People usually dont post when they dont have problems, thus the overflow of BAD posts. To each his own
