Any reasons for that... im almost 100% sure it will be an HP now.
With my mothers H&R block discount plus the back to school no tax discount (which if you cant use both ill take the H&R as its 10% not 6%) Ill save probably atleast 100$ and HP so far was the most reasonable with what you get for your money.
I've looked into 3 different laptops from Sony, Dell and HP. Heres the results:

Like they have it.. its about 1250$ from dell... only differences are you get 1GB ram free and theirs no 100GB 5400RPM drive as an option.
Battery life seems okay, I would get the 9 cell battery which is like 4.5 hours or so but I would have to get two batterys.
This is alittle more then I wanted to spend, maybe though... maybe

Do I really want an AMD X2 though... I mean sure a 3800+ is hella cheap now but I think I've heard good stuff about the Turion A64's also... you hear any positive stuff about them???

lol no i still have an impression that turions get smashed by the centrino-class.. there is one thing one guy said, something like turions have a better battery life when idling, pentium m's have a better battery life full load.
but anyway, turion is slower.
