Creative X-Fi

#1 Post by palmboy5 » Thu Sep 21, 2006 6:56 pm

lol I got an X-Fi XtremeMusic and well, it sounds SO much better and all, but I have that all-too-common crackling/popping that the X-Fi's suffer. Mostly in nForce4 systems because nForce4 apparently is the only chipset of which can ignore the PCI bus for up to 2ms. The 2ms of delay causes gaps in the audio stream and therefore popping/crackling.

Anyway, I'm RMAing to Amazon. I hope it works because I heard newegg denies X-Fi RMAs due to this common issue.

A question, the card came on sale with a Creative WebCam Live!, should I keep it or send it away as well?

P.S. The Creative drivers gave me the MOST hassle I have ever experienced in uninstalling something.
For computers, buying cheaply and often will only leave you constantly in a world of shit.
