Computer Cases

#1 Post by 2005 » Thu Feb 27, 2014 8:41 am

I'm thinking about replacing my antec P-180...

It's been a great case, but its really too big for my needs.
I am considering going with a mid tower case, but I do need to be careful
as I am going to be purchasing that Hyper 212 Plus finally and it needs to fit.

Also, I put in an oversized power supply. It was bigger then ATX and I didn't
want to wait / deal with the hassle of trying to return or sell it SOO I ripped the
metal cage out of the P180 and put it in there anyway. It's 850W and way way
more then what I need and since I now pay the electric bill I am a little more
conscious of how much is getting used.

Any recommendations in the mid tower market? I looked at PB's SilverStone and while
it looks like a great case I'm just tired of having a monster case to deal with even as nice
as it does make it when working on it / cleaning it.

The Fractal Design Arc Midi comes to mind.

I don't think it'll fit a nonstandard larger PSU though.

You're only going to be able to shave off a couple inches at most if you need to accommodate a full ATX board. Even the P180 doesn't have all that much extra space making up its height than the PSU and ATX mobo.
For computers, buying cheaply and often will only leave you constantly in a world of shit.
