I have Patition Magic v8.0. I have it on my second drive because I want to make a seperate partition on my 120 GB drive for programs so if windows gets screwed I didn't have to re-install everything. Anyway, I wanna give windows like 20GB of space, is that enough? Then leave the rest of the drive open for programs and files.
Anyway it kinda shows that I can't create a new partition, so do I just do the resize/move? I'll get some screen shots ASAP so you get what I'm trying to explain.

Which action do I want? Please be specific, eg: Pick a Task - Resize a partition. You get the idea.
And why does it give me the 'Pick a Task...' option to 'Craete a new partition', but 'Partition Operations' does not? Is there a difference between 'Create Partition' and 'Create a new partition'?
If you would like screen shots of any of the options let me know.

i right clicked on the partition, did resize from there. basicly made C smaller, then take the unallocated and make a new partition. it doesnt really do ANYTHING until you click Apply

Even if you do lose your windows youll have to reinstall all those programs anyways as there registry entries will be gone.

Heh, I just resized my Windows one today. Worked fine. Basically, Windows doesn't need more than 5GB, ever.
Here to impress.

lol...
Well, I gave Windows appx. 20 GBs. I finnally got it to work after toyin' with it for quite a while. And I could backup registery, although, the programs I've installed so far to the new partition (H) don't put anything on 'C', except for something like reg. keys, that is until I got to installing Norton Internet Security Pro 2004. It was going to install it to 'H' and shared files to 'C'. So now I'm just gonna put Windows and all of the programs on 'C', I hope that 20 GB is enough space...

If you don't play many games, 20GB is fine.

Well I just resized it to 49.9 GBs. I was off by.1 when I typed in the resize. But that's enough. I only resized it because of all of the programs I put on here. I don't like to have to put in a disc whenever I wanna use something in MS Office and other apps.
