What will you need to design a comp... could you give a FULL COMPLETE LIST
I know the basics like mobo, cpu, psu, hdds, drives (cd and dvd) ide cables, video and sound cards, but i mean like a 100% complete list
If you build a pc from scratch, do you need to buy a hdd control or does the mobo do that.
Plus PCI Express isnt better then AGP 8x... the better Nvidia and X800 cards are AGP

PCI-Express gives enough power through its slot to support the large cards, avoiding having to plug the card into a PSU's molex connector. the good mobos will clean out the voltage and shit going to the card to improve stability and ability to OC higher but it wont be complete if u have to use a molex as well. newer cards in this "generation" will all come with AGP as well so its not something to be "future proof" about for the PCI-Express other than somewhere down the road, video cards bandwidth will surpass that of the AGP 8X
lets see...
case (optional really...)
power supply, 500W good brand at least/recommended
disc drives, w/e
hard drives, IDE or SATA, both fine, just make sure the mobo also has the one that the harddrives use
mobo, AMD of course XD, has 3-4 RAM slots, has that.. heatsink bracing thingy, not on the CPU socket itself, have PCI-Express or AGP.. PCI-Express and SATA is HIGHLY recommended for future upgrades. only get an AMD with socket 939, the others are to be faded out
CPU, dont get no intel for an amd XD, make sure the sockets match, that should be the only thing that matters
Coolers:
CPU, something from thermal take/right for the socket u got is good
ram, well.. theres SDRAM (if u get one with it im gonna cry) and DDR(&DDR2) which both SHOULD work on any mobo but not TOGETHER im not sure about this part
video card, w/e... just dont get like a PCI-Express for a mobo with only AGP
god im too lazy, ill finish up later

For computers, buying cheaply and often will only leave you constantly in a world of shit.
