Yep, gots me a new one to replace that old 22" CRT humungo, breaking the desk, POS.

Not the greatest but I hear good things about samsung and 3 year warranty is pritty good.

You're connecting it through DVI, right? not VGA..

dunno why they said "1680 x 1050 maximum resolution for 720p content viewing," the two smaller resolutions, 1440x900 and 1280x800 are also able to fit 720p content..

absolutely DVI, with my geforce 6600. Also I have it set for 1680x1050. This seems to look the best.

Yes LCDs can only display one resolution (native) without looking like shit, which is also their max resolution.

It was a big jump in price at Best Buy also, but not just because of the screen size. The 22" also has a 2ms response time where the one I got 21.6" has a 5ms response time. Still not worth the big jump seeing Im not a BIG gamer or the like. I never heard of Fry's tho. Reminds of the old Crazy Eddie commercials in the 70s.

Well a 3ms difference is too small, I'd understand if it was a 16ms vs 8ms or something.

Fry's stores are usually larger than Best Buy but its really the difference in their selection. At Best Buy, what do you see.. laptops, desktops, monitors, speakers, routers, TVs and related, software/media (I call that area the Downloadables), washing machine and related, car stereo and related-type section, and video cards. Thats about it, yeah? Forget their RAM, they overprice that by like 19837493%. Basically just the big common stuff the Joe would want (and still need to ask workers for their clueless opinion).

Fry's would be, unfortunately, a more dirty environment closer to that of a K-Mart but not as bad and among the stuff a Best Buy would carry, they have all the goodies I love: LEDs, adapters (IDE-to-SATA, to-SCSI, to-SAS, 2.5" to 3.5", etc), electrical equipment (you know.. those things that show you the sine wave and whatnot), PC cases and power supplies (both on display), capacitors, resistors, motors, toys for some reason, circuit boards, all types of extension cables (like the 3pin fan one), but my favorite is at the back wall they have all the motherboards out on display with the CPUs and RAM and stuff next to them, separated by a wall stocked with CPU/VGA/Bridge coolers and thermal paste. To put it simply, they have everything a nerd would want that a nerd would normally have to go online to find.

Yeah sorry I just wanted to explain why Fry's is good. ^^

I wish we had fry's around here, but honestly I find 99% of what I want for about as good a price as I'm going to get it.

DDR ram is stupidly expensive anymore and both Bestbuy and Circuit City are just out of the question for buying most shit. Occasionally they will have killer sales on HDD's, but I have enough hard drive space at the moment.

Sounds like Fry's is a great place but I never heard of em and the closest one is 750 to 800 miles away. So far I only get a few things at best buy. Small stuff like RAM I normally get online. Bit stuff, like monitors, I try and get locally. Staples is normally out of the question for computer stuff, damn overpriced. Ill check best buy, circuit city (I have yet to get anything there), CompUSA, walmart, then I would check computer outlet stores.
