Is there a way I can download service pack 2 without having to use auto-update or windows update? I tried to install it last night using windows update, it downloaded it, and when it was installing it said it couldn't copy the file atapi.sys. I opened Windows Explorer went to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers and it was there. I clicked retry, it didn't work. Then I did what it said make a folder called Windows XP System Files, it wouldn't create it on it's own so I created it (C:\Windows XP System File), and clicked retry and it still didn't work, so I just cancelled it.
Yeah, I need to resize my Windows partition since I don't have enough space to install it, and I don't know if I want to, I've heard bad things so far. Two of my friends' computers don't work now.
i refused autoupdate on my laptop... the rest are quiet. im waiting for full download that isnt for those ... pros or w/e in networking (even though its the same thing)
microsofts giving away FREE CDs with it.. they must really want this thing out, major security upgrade
leave it for now.
For computers, buying cheaply and often will only leave you constantly in a world of shit.
